GSL Round of 16 -- 4/29/11
April 29, 2011 at 8:43 PM

The Global StarCraft II League May's Code S Round of 16 wraps up tonight, and will decide the final four players to make it into the prestigious Round of 8. Tune into GOMtv (www.gomtv.net) at 10:10 p.m. PDT to catch all the action.

Here's what's coming up tonight:

Match 1 -- TSL_Clide (terran) vs. TSL_Killer (protoss)

Clide and Killer, two fan favorites, clash head-to-head tonight. Long-time teammates on TSL, they have practiced extensively together and likely know each other inside and out -- but only one can move on. Clide's performance in Group E was nothing less than stellar, taking out both san and NesTea to secure his first-place seed. Killer encountered trouble in Group F, but was still able to edge out Lyn in his ace-revenge match.

Match 2 -- ST_Virus (terran) vs. oGsInCa (protoss)

No one in Group G had the cure for Virus last week. Before anyone knew what hit them, they were already infected, leaving Virus with the top seed for his group and everyone else feeling ill. InCa came in second to July in Group H after defeating Rain for his final game.  InCa is going to have to use all of his might to fight the sickness that Virus is bringing, especially if he hasn't tightened up his play since last week's matches.

Match 3 -- IMNesTea (zerg) vs. TSL_FruitDealer (zerg)

These are two of the strongest zerg players in the GSL. Both are prior season champions and this match is going to be a bloodbath. NesTea was able to barely escape Group E last week with a second place finish, taking down Jinro in his final match to grant him entry into the Round of 16. FruitDealer, on the other hand, dominated Group F, defeating both Lyn and Check without batting an eyelash.

Match 4 -- anyproPrime.We (protoss) vs. ST_July (zerg)

anypro made it out of Group G by the skin of his teeth last week, managing to defeat TricKsteR in a mirror match on Xel'Naga Fortress. July, by contrast, made his matches in Group H look like warm-up games; the god of war is out for blood... and another shot at the championship.

As always, you can watch the first map of any VOD on GOMtv.net even if you don't have a premium account. You can also watch these matches live at 14:10 KST (GMT+9) on www.gomtv.net.
